a funny little guitar love song

O the guitar, i do, sure do love it;
best way to hug a tree and give it a voice.
don't have to be played too good to lift your soul,
just holdin' it in your hands'll lift your soul, lift your soul.

It comes alive to you, alive! like it
never did in the ground when it grew up high;
don't have to be played too good to lift your soul,
just layin' it on your knee'll lift your soul, lift you soul.

Now all ya gotta do is strum it, strum it,
pick it like you're talkin' to a real good friend.
Don't have to be played too good to lift your soul,
just playin' it with your heart'll lift your soul, lift your soul.

Set the cry of wood free, give it freedom
is what ya do when you make it kiss the air.
Don't have to be played too good to lift your soul,
just feelin' it in your bones'll lift you soul, lift your soul.

true conversation#1

Aria: Mom, can we go to McDonald's?
Me: No, hon, we're not going to McDonald's today.
Aria: M-aaaah-m, I want you to spend the money!!!

no coincidence...

...that 2 days after i decide on a name/theme for my new blog, that i find this little tome hidden away in my basement; received by a great friend for mother's day 2001, and barely touched since.
Today, it is totally relevant to life and love, and in keeping with my theme! God is Cool, (note the capital "c"... if it had been a culturally relevant word during Biblical times, He would have defined it. And we would have downgraded it's meaning and effectiveness, as we have with "awesome" and"wicked", but i digress...) and i love His little reminders that show Him to be in the details of our lives.

"Meditation for Mothers: moments with God amidst a busy nest" by Elisa Morgan
(Zondervan,1999 ISBN 0-310-22645-6) would make a lovely gift for a mother of younger children, if you're looking for ideas. A quick little read, thoughtful and relevant devotional, showing God to be in the details of our lives and that of all creation.
It may still be available through the Mopshop on the MOPS website.

Tough job...

...this lady's got! Is she hatching them, throwing them out with the bathwater? lol i think she looks too happy for that. are they all hers??? what a great image.
i got this clipart from a wonderful website, if you, like myself, value the old and odd:

it was inevitable

wooooah.
it was inevitable; the urge to write and communicate can't be put off forever : )
thus i begin to warble and chirp! hehe.
in the beginning was the computer, and it grabbed us all by the big toe and sucked us into its nebulous, intangible clutches, and now it dominates and facilitates our communication. weird!
but i think i like it : )
